  • Inattention: Daydreaming and seems to be in another world all the time.
  • Hyperactivity: Constantly moving
  • Impulsiveness:Acts quickly without thinking.

Diagnosing ADHD
If a child is suspected of having ADHD, it should be diagnosed by a professional in ADHD. Specialists include child psychiatrists, psychologists, developmental/ behavioral pediatricians, behavioral neurologists, and clinical social workers. After the specialist rules out any other possible behavioral problem, they check the child's school and medical records and talk to parents and teachers about the child. The diagnosis is made after reviewing all of the information.

Treatment and Prevention
Treatments for ADHD include medications, various types of psychotherapy, education or training, or a combination of treatments. It still isn't known if ADHD can be prevented.
